I'd like to thank the PKWS members for working so hard to put on a great show. I had more fun at this show than I have had in a long time. I look forward to returning next year.
I'll start out by posting some photos around the vendors tent.

The only failures are those that stop trying! There is a very thin line between procrastination and delayed gratification. You won't be happy with what you want, if you aren't happy with what you have. It's not what you are looking at, but where you are looking from.

Mike (koiNva) built his first koi pond during the winter and spring of 2008. The first
of June he bought 6 nissai and 5 tosai from me. The Gin Rin Benigoi belongs to his son
Hunter and the Kikokuryu belongs to his wife Nikki. He did not plan on showing any of
the koi.

Some time between then and now he decided he would like to show a few of their koi.
Another very good friend, Gordon (expat), went with me up to Mike's last Friday morning
to help him bag and box his koi for the show.
The table at the banquet where we were sitting seemed to get the majority of the awards.
I count myself lucky to have such great friends!

Thanks for the pics Gene!! It was a blast participating in my first show and meeting more people in the Koi Hobby. I am glad that I changed my mind and decided to show my Koi as I feel that I would have missed out on what the Koi keeping hobby is all about. Meeting other people with an interest in Koi as well as learning so much from talking with them and observing other Koi in person.
I also must thank Gene Winstead (Koi Village) for all of his help, insight and most of all his friendship. I met Gene through a phone call, a little over a year ago, to seek input on building a Koi pond. After much input from Gene and several months of construction, I completed our new pond. Since then, I have purchased 11 Japanese imports from Gene and have been bitten by this obsession that we call a hobby. Without Gene and all of his guidance, I don't think I could have made it this far in the hobby. Gene has always been a phone call away for any questions, needs or recommendations. His knowledge of the hobby is unbelievable and I would highly recommend him!!!
Mike
