gorgeous I wish I could grow them like that but since the shade cloth got all torn up its not possible in Oklahoma.
If you took them out by the 18th, and that was mid November, we actually got a pretty good run this year. But you’re right it hurts to take out plants that are still blooming beautifully. Just because you know they’ll deteriorate if hit by frost. Yours look beautiful, especially contrasting with other plants like the water lettuce, thanks for sharing the pictures.
Yes Sue that was November 18th. We didn’t get the predicted frost until a week later. Very late in the year for us.
My water lettuce were huge this year. Some at least 16” around with lots of babies still attached to mother plants. Threw away two 96 gallon lawn carts full of water lettuce emptied by the city.
Now we can look forward to next Spring.
Now that is a lot of water lettuce!
My sunpatient are in the stream only, and not in the pond. I have a bypass from filter directly into the pond. So, by late October, I turned on the bypass. That allows me to keep my flower until they all die. With all the rain that we have here, the sunpatient can survive without water running. It’s little dirty to clean at the end, but not that bad. So, I could enjoin the flower until the last minute, which is mid Nov for me this year.
I did not take any close up photo this year, and this is little further view photo. You can tell I like sun/impatient and have a few of them outside the stream as well. However, the ones in the stream are always way bigger!

What a beautifully landscaped area, and the colorful sunpatiens really contribute. Thank you for sharing this picture with us.
