Brady, just a question. If you do not put the fish into the mud ponds until May, where do you keep them until that time?

For the winter, they are moved inside the compound to the concrete ponds. He spoils them all winter by handfeeding, too.

I have one that has spent two summers in the Brady's mud since I bought it, and it may spend another. I don't get to go see it this fall, but will see it before it goes back in the mud, if it does.

I didn't realize the stay in the mud pond would be so long, but the timing should be perfect since I will be redoing the pond next year. So the new fish will have a nice new home. I'm pysched about what the development and growth will result in after seeing all the pond pulling in Japan. Now I need to decide which kohaku to send to the mud and figure if I want a box buddy.

For about the same cost as a box buddy, you could pay Brady ($250 I think) to keep the other kohaku in the mud. Then both would have the advantage of another season in the mud and you'd have your box buddy. Just a thought.

I decided on #6 because it looked like it needed more growth in comparison to #19 even though they are the same length. Also because #19 was my first pick, I'm more inclined to want to see it home.

I hope we get pictures from Brady of our kohaku's before they go into the mud in May so we can see how much growth they get and how much they grew over the winter.
