I've hesitated to post Steve because a true bonsai would be about 36 inches
tall MAX and yours is just a spinch bigger .....still it's the fun and what's important is the impression it leaves as we set on the patio that takes us back to the woods.
The pot that it is in, would be a style more suited for a cascade. It also tends to heightened the long length already. maybe in a coupla years when it's time to repot you could look for something lower and wider. There an odd shaped pot nicknamed a "wobbly" that would be perfect. My friend makes them and sells em. I bought one for a friend that we put his literadi black pine into. I picked one up Friday as it came out of the kiln to replace the one I did for my friend.
keep in mind with many trees at fall time, they expand limbs at this time since the leaf growth/needles are done and mature. I say this cause you want to check the wirering so that it does not "bite - in ".....
