      Fungus

Might not be an emergency but I can't get it cleared up on 2 koi. They see the net coming and just give up and swim in.

Scraped and scoped last night and I can't see anything moving. I have been dipping in MG green and iodining and it almost clears up and then its back.

Help. Should I go ahead and get Proform and do the whole pond?

No - my water tests are perfect. Bio's are active. Doing weekly water changes.

These two fish don't winter well and get a rash. Usually when the water warms (QT) and then out in spring, they bounce back.

Before the scope got there, I went ahead and used Supaverm as a preventative because we have alot of frog and toad visitors.

Koiing I'll have to go and check out your thread at koivet. I've never heard of koizyme doing these things.

In the mean time Cindy I remember your other posts about these fish... they sure are being stubborn.

Can you put them in Q for a while. I think they need time to heal before going back to the main pond. Fungus is always with us so in their weakened state they may be just getting reinfected or it isn't clearing up at all.

Its the MG in proform c that works on fungus and since you said you were doing dips I doubt it would make a difference.

I'd like to see them in nice warm Q water with a bit of salt and lots of air until its cleared. No iodine just the dip. Maybe too much love.

      I'll agree to that Jackie.
If this is recurring on the same fish over a couple of seasons... reasonable warmth makes sense if the pond is on the cool side right now. Get the immune kicking again.

What is the MG dosage and duration of " the dip" ?

Its the knox ich - 10 drops to 10 gallons - 15 minutes then I'm iodining.

The QT - I was fighting ammonia and was afraid I was doing more damage.

Cindy bind the ammonia. Heat is more important now.

Bring in some of your filter media from outside to get it started. Earlier in the year that wasn't possible but should be now.

      Yepp. Bind the ammonia.
In a few days, 5-6, see what they look like.
If you dont see improvement by then switch to an aquaculture grade chemical treatment.
Got any good pictures of this fungus...or "spots" ?

Knox Ich, I'm not familiar with.
I was scared to do an internet search for it...

Cindy I'd still bring them in where you can keep an eye on them. Heat to 84F and as Blam says watch them. Get us some pics.

This has been a long on going problem and you will have to take measures to cure the fish.
