Kase..right?
Kase..right?
Karl: He has such beautiful koi....when I was there he hardly had anything like your photos...he did have a $60K Showa...remember the story...he was found to be talking to the judges at a local koi showm featuring this koi and others and he made it very clear to the judges that he didn't think it should be GC...so the judges awarded the Showa 2nd place...I found the reason to be Kase didn't want to have to buy dinner for all of the breeders at the show which comes with winning th GC at that particular show....when I was there he had just called us to come over and see the new Kumonryu he had seined from the mudpond by his house like in your pictures, This is the second spawn
of Kumonryu for Kase and they looked great coming out of the mudpond.
I love the pics. The Japanese have the greatest colors. Sometimes i think they must paint them. by the way where can i get one of those cool little white trucks in the earlier pictures? they are pretty cool./
Wowsers!!!!!!! those are very nice!!!
Thanks Karl...don't you feel looking at photos of Japan that you took that you mentally could go back where you took that photo for a few minutes from your computer desk?
Brian, was curious if you had ever seen Ogata's yamabuki's?
Karl,
I noticed in the koromo photo that it was abou as finished and ready to go to a show as any I've seen. Also in the following photo I noticed the only real koi
was blue and only the tail portion was displayed, someone must have distracted you as you were center the shot <grin> LOL ( i've got the blues....)
Dick: Yes...a few years ago before the devastating typoons and the earthquakes...we were at Ogatas...I will post later some photos here. Mr. Ogata, is a very gracious, humble person with incredible hospitality, family and great koi. He took us to his 7 million gallon (or more) secret mud pond...I have posted that before here..but sounds like we need a new updated version...yes on Yamabukis. He buys them from the Niigata area. He used to work for the Izumiya koi farm..hint-hint. I'm not so sure he is breeding them.
And here's Ogata Koi farm and one of Mr. Ogata's secret mudponds.
The last photo is of Mr. Tom Lai of Champion Nishikigoi, a most gracious host, person and runs one of the best koi businesses in the country. IMHO.
Check the new additions to this thread folks!!!
Tancho Ochiba shigure!!!!!!
