Gosh your Goldies are gorgeous! I have a whole new respect for people who are getting such awesome shots of their fish! I figured if you have a half-way decent camera no big deal - hah! Little did I know! These things move too much and too fast for me finger and my camera recovery!Originally Posted by gray cat
Our pond is not even one year old yet. We bought some fish last fall but got a sickie in the batch that infected all the others and all died but one. The red/orange?/white bicolor Comet is the only original that made it from the illness. He/she never got sick. We bought 6 more fish about 4-5 weeks ago, 3 shubunkins, another Comet but this one is a fancy Sarrassa, and we bought two nosey, bossy, Koi (probably just mutt Koi, nothing fancy but they do have the whiskers).
We feed them Sho Koi, and two nameless type of Koi food. They all also love watermelon and canteloupe. We have yet to try some other foods. Our fish are between 6" and 9", or at least that is what they were when we bought them, I think they are growing! Duh...that was a stupid comment! Of course they are growing or they would be dead!
No names at this point. I will post some pics in a little while.

Okay, I got some half-way decent with my Olympus. Here they are for better or worse, and the two Koi keep getting in the action also...sorry about that.

Sorry, no black moors but a smattering of everything else and I edited the photos into a type of graphic. I've never been able to take black moors since I was a little girl and mine died while we were away on vacation despite having a neighbor look after it. It totally freaked me out--LOL
On another note, we just redid the bathroom in you guessed it--GOLDFISH! My tank for in there still hasn't come (maybe tomorrow--it's finally shipped) but I do have some photos up of the rest of the room.

i know you got wakins from the same place i did.and we got ripped off.long tails deep shorter bodies.we got goldfish maybe crossed with a wakin but definetely not 100% wakin.and i have tryed contacting him and guess waht.phone number does not work,no website, old email address does not work.a few people had posted the good luck over the past years on koi they bought from him so i went with them(same time frame as you buying from same great threads) guess he made one last push and flew the coop.
mine were sick bag was deflated from hole in both bags.
sorry to bring up a bad memory on a nice thread.
Arg! The tank that was supposed to be shipped last week and be here this week is now supposedly shipped this week and will be here by Jan 30. I'm to the point that I'll believe it when it actually shows up--and I will post photos once it gets here.
The fish in a bag are really easy to make.My daughter and I made up a bunch of them.

I am no goldfish expert but just a few pictures small one is my so called wakin.big goldfish is my $1 goldfish many years ago from a petstore(very egg bound).
i called the guy right away about the deflate and he said that he usually has the ice pack in a another bag and did not have any.this is what popped the holes in there.then tell him about the health.well they might have something but up to me to fix it.and my facilities were probably not very good.I put them in one of my show tanks that my personal koi just left to go new indoor.so i can keep 20+ koi up to 28 inches alive but i can not keep can not keep 60 wakins(goldfish) alive because of facilities.
so 2 alive out of 60+ and they are junk.
SO thank you Ayers Aquatics.i hope you are enjoying my money.
That really bums me out. The white goldfish in the pic is 8 inches-the "wakins" around it haven't really shown the growth that I expected. And yes, the tailfins are pretty long.......this is not a wakin trait I suppose? If I wanted to sell them, it would be as fish bait??
Guess I'll have to find some REAL certified Wakins....why do people have to rip people off??? How can they sleep at night with a foul conscience??
Can you post some photos? I'm not clear on what a Wakin is supposed to look like.
