Not sure if this question was for me but I have turned off my fountains. I occasionally turn them on during the day just to cycle the water through the plants.
Pump and filtration always runs 24x7x365. Aerated BD is on a timer.
Water temperature is still at 50*F.

Triple digits are rare in Washington west of the Cascade Mountains...

Pond temp hit the high temp alarm at 72*. Now 72.7*

Oh my goodness. 111 degrees. In Seattle! The climate is changing.

Believe it or not, your water temperature is higher than mine (71). And that's in my greenhouse pond.

      Best,

      Bill

      Pond: 78.4*

I believe that might be a record for the ponds when they're running connected!

75 F this afternoon. In late August, after 4 days of ~102 F air temps, the pond hit a high for the summer of 82 F.

Our pond is shaded by trees most of the morning and by the house in late afternoon. In between, it is about 75% sunny and 25% shaded.

This was a rather mild summer for this area, unlike the severe heat in the western states.

Mine is also at 77* here in Murrells Inlet SC. I expect it to start dropping soon as the daytime temps have cooled.

Here in Gig Harbor (just west of Tacoma, Washington) on the Olympic peninsula, my pond is averaging 52° F. Our nighttime temperatures have dropped as low as 39°, but came back up this week and will run from 41 to 48°F over the next 10 days. Daytime temps will run from 52 to 61°F. Fish continuing to beg for food.
