VERY nice falls! I take it you net that all off in the fall?

Well, I just had it installed last Fall and didn't...but will be this year! Hopefully the leaves will come down fast...just hate the look of nets over ponds. Didn't have any fish in it last Fall...still don't. Hope to get the first batch in there this next week. They've been in QT for almost a month. I am hoping the Forsythia flowers fall off all together away from the stream in the next day or two. Ponderingkoi

All of the waterfalls are great! Does anyone have a picture of how the return pipe enters into the top of the waterfall? Just designing my waterfall now and not sure if the return should come up from underneath or just spilled out at an angle from the top. Thx!

      Nevadakoi,
Just took this photo, sorry it's getting alittle dark...but I think you can see how my return pipe enters the top of the waterfall. You can't see it standing there..but if you get down to peer in, you'll see this shot. You can fiddle with the rocks, but you want to 'hide' the pipe from direct view and still direct the waterflow where you want it to go. Hope this helps. Ponderingkoi

PS...I'll try to get a better shot tomorrow. I have two return pipes there, you can see the one on the right. Ponderingkoi

OK, here's another shot of the top of the waterfall (yes, it's pouring here, no end in sight). At least the forsythia flowers are mostly falling outside of the stream. Ponderingkoi

How do you keep your forsythia's under control? Do plan on cutting them back all the way back every few years?

We keep most of the shrubs and trees trimmed around here, but I don't cut them all the way back. Only one is kinda over the stream and my skimmer is collecting those. These are only a couple of years old. Ponderingkoi

I like forsythia - great shelter for birds when they get mature. I guess if you keep on top of it it won't "eat" your stream

Beautiful pond, view and grounds! I love what you have done with the stonework around the pond.

Thanks Dillon! It's new and I'm still planting it and tweaking it, but I love doing it. It's my first pond. Ponderingkoi

No, didn't do much of it myself. I had it professionally installed, but did a lot of research beforehand so I had a good idea what I wanted. The large boulders were beyond the scope of what I could do. They also installed two large UV sterilyzers, hooked into my irrigation lines and a discharge wet well in front of the pond, did an automatic water level and several rain/ground water underground pipes along the hillside, along with a bunch of other stuff which would have been more than I'd want to take on myself. It is set up so I can do easy water changes. I like that the boulders are so large and solid that I can walk on them around the perimeter...no movement. I was hoping to put my first 4 koi in there this week...but we've had nothing but rain and cooler temps lately. Will likely hold off till almost Memorial day weekend. Hoping for some sun and warmth...Ponderingkoi

The lights I use are from : ccl-light.com
      http://ccl-light.com/docs/outdoor/underwater/index.html

I played with the positions untill I found them just right.
The stream lights are 35 watts,...... the ones under the MAIN FALL are 50watt. They are on pvc stands.. about 8inches from the surface of the water

These are falls I did myself, took about 4 days to create finish them.
      The pond is 5500gallons+
I created this pond for the Tackitts. My biggest yet
the neighbors loved it and wanted something like it, just scaled down.
So I did this for them : a nice 20+ stream into a existing small goldfish pond.

      Carlos,

I just LOVE the lights. They really make the falls. Can you tell us what you mean by "PVC stands? Do you have a picture? :splease:
