Well I guess it's time to start my construction thread, I will be starting the digging as soon as I have a couple of dry day's in a row, next week looks good

here are some pictures of the spot the large pond will be, and some of my bottom drains that arrived today

Well it was too dark last night when I got done to take pictures, so here is what I got done in about 2 hours

I didn't knock the house or fence down so I am pretty happy

found some roots

Well I finished the hole

not as big as I would like

but I started to run into roots from our 100 year old Monkey Puzzle tree in the front yard and didn't want to compromise it's root system, that and I was starting to get close to the gas line to the house

It should end up about 9'X12'X5.5' and 4500gal plus filter volume

I didn't want to stop digging

once I got the hang of the thing it worked really well, I did have to hand dig all the sides and bottom corners as I was not good enough with it to do that

but not bad for two day's by myself, now I just need to get the energy to start on the footings, feeling old today

there is no way I could have gotten the stumps that I found out by hand

one is about 400lbs and I could barely move it by myself
