It is 60' x 40' and about 11' deep. Fed by a natural stream, overflows to a slough at the bottom of the property.
I call it the "Big Ugly Pond".

That ain't ugly. My old big mud pond that was nothing but mud (wouldn't hold water) was an eyesore.

I do think I see a school of orange fish in there...I think.....
Someday I would like to fill it in and put 2 lined ponds connected by a stream in the same area but I can't see that happening this year.
Yes, there are a few Goldfish and a couple koi in there but the only time you see them is when they are feeding or sunning. I would like to be able to see deeper then a few inches. The fish grow big and fast in there.
I have 4 small container ponds, well 2 bathtubs, a stock tank and an old refridgerator that has been gutted and lined. Last year we had a blow out on the dam and in my panic I moved all the fish into those. Most are now back in the big ugly pond but I kept some in the containers for mosquito control.
So Bill OTMS, What would you do with it???
I like it!!! :D

WHAT ON EARTH IS A SLOUGH I ONLY KNOW SLOUGH AS THE PLACE I LIVE, HOPE IT AIN'T NOTHING NASTY
I don't think I'd line it. Maybe GatorGard but I'd look for a good, inexpensive source of montmorillonite clay/benonite and keep it covered with this good stuff but I don't think that would be practical.

Merlin,
'round here a slough is nothing more then a deep ditch that runs from one lake to another. There are native fish (trout, bass and ??? ) that live down there.
Bill,
do you have any idea what the mermaid would charge me to gator gaurd a 40' x 60' x 12' mud hole? Even to muck it out and reline with bentonite would cost a small fortune.
