      New pond...almost done

Here is a pictorial on my new pond. It is a semi circle of approximately 20 feet across, sheer walls down 4 feet and they taper to the middle depth of 6-8". Jeff Dunkel....kept telling me to "go deeper." Next step is to have him spray his polyurea in a few weeks, weather permitting of course. He has been a wealth of information, a huge help in all aspects of the build including digging 10 wheelbarrows of dirt himself! 4 inch bottom drain, in pond skimmer, four 2 inch returns to swirl my pond like a vortex. The drain will head to the settling chambers then onto an Advantage bead filter, uv light, etc. After Jeff gives my gunite a blowing, Steve Barr will be doing my waterfall and all stonework, etc. Water, fish, landscaping next. I am so excited that i am finding it hard to sleep. lol
Here is the link to the pics....

      UnkleTim . . .

welcome to Koiphen and thanks for linking to your pond construction pix. Like Doug said, post the pix here -- then you won't have to worry about the GeoCities clicker cutting off viewers.

Glad to see you hooked up with Jeff Dunkle for the polydiarrhea spray job. He's quite a guy and your pond's gonna shine for sure! Don

      the hump...

yes dan, the hump is no longer in existance! just like you....waiting for the spray....then waterfall and rockwork. it will be interesting to see what the actual gallonage(is that actually a word Unk?) of the pond will be. of those that have looked at it, the common consensus is somewhere between 8 and 10 thousand gallons. of course right now....i have two feet of rainwater in the bottom....

That is a seriously nice looking pond. Looking forward to more updates. What do you estimate the gallonage to be?

      - Wayne, would like to see more photos and is wondering if the TPRs are pointing toward the center and if they will be valved to operate independently?

      of gallons and those tpr's....

Without actually filling it with a water meter, those that have come by all say somewhere between 8 and 9k. However....when we fill it, I shall post actual number. Jeff Dunkel just came by and weather permitting, the polyurea should be shot within a week. But then again....mother nature can be fickle huh? As far as the returns, what you are seeing is just stubbed pipes through the wall of the pond. There are four of them and with 90's on them the water should circle quite well dumping all of the poopoo in the center four inch drain. And yes....there will be bubbles coming up too! Folks, I am beyond getting excited at this point. After the rockwork, waterfall and landscaping, I just might have to give up golfing and hang out at home for a change huh!

      pee ess,

yes, the tpr's are all plumbed separatley and Dan (BammBamm) has built a manifold that is rapidly becoming a work of art to control them all on their own valve. Folks...I have never had koi before, nor have I ever had a pond. But....after a few solid years of research, it is all coming together. I cannot thank everyone for all of the info that I have found on this net. Thanks again, Unk

      Pics of polyurea

Okie dokie, here are some pics of the spraying and the after. Dunkel did an impressive job, extremely careful in all aspects of getting good coverage. Didn't skimp one bit on materials. I am a happy camper! ( I have a great shot of Rueben's shoe that got stuck in the rubber...I shall leave that one for blackmail at a later date though...)

And now the polyurea is lifting off the bottom on the pond.
