Planning a new "modern" above ground block pond, approx 4000 gallons plus filtration.
1'+ below ground 3" pipes from 2 bottom drains.
I am thinking of setting up my filtration as follows:
Bottom drain Gravity Fed to spin down filter, to 24" bead converted to K1, to a very large MBBR >55 gallon, to dual 110 W UV, to pump, returning to pond in at least 2 spots.
Thinking of duplicating this for each of the drain lines, redundancy and running in parallel, then combining at the MBBR, then to the pump to the returns ...
No niche skimmer (anyone know who has the largest? biggest I can find is 8" so far) gravity to 24" bead to pump to 2 or 3 blades. Blades will dump to, or return from trough with plants running around 2 sides of pond.
Is there an issue with gravity to the filters with pump pulling and returning to pond at the end?
Pumps will be variable speed (your recommendations would be appreciated). Hard for me to rationalize PerformancePro Dial-A-Flow Pumps (Variable Speed) at 1800, when I can get 2 speed or variable speed with baskets build in for 3-500.
