Apologizes for just dropping by to ask questions; I feel guilty that I have nothing to contribute ...except questions due to my inexperience.
My father wants me to gift him some of my "fancy goldfish" for Father's Day, and I'm afraid to because the Koi has developed something that looks like lesions on the right side, maybe some discoloration on the left? I'm worried it's communicable. I have a large flagstone ledge in the pond that the fish stay under a lot and the Koi's always rubbing up against it; when the lesions first appeared, I assumed they were from rubbing.
Can anyone see anything in these photos that may help out.
You can treat with tricide neo and see if it improves, but given the lesions occur at the red part of the scale, it's likely hikkui which is cancer. Assuming that is hikkui, you should probably stop buying from that seller because they are not responsible and not culling this fish out of the gene pool.
