Well this has been an awful year for my pond. I managed to save almost all of my fish after the batch of sickness last year, only to lose almost all of them overnight. I am in the Los Angeles foothills close to the fires and over night we had ~100 mph winds (not exaggerating). Power went out, wind blew all sorts of debris into the pond and I couldn't go out to check on anything really because the wind was so bad. Found many of the fish this morning floating. The few that are still alive are very passive and just barely swimming around. They look exhausted, beat up and covered in fine dirt almost like ash. I want to do a water change but the area is starving for water right now as it is due to the fires. A couple more fish have died throughout the day, and I am wondering is there anything I can do to help the couple remaining fish or can I even expect them to recover to be healthy again?
