Help - geotextile fabric used for spray polyurea

I'm looking to replace my rubber liner with spray polyurea. I'm in the Nashville area and unable to find anyone that has a mobile spray unit here. I was able to find someone in Kentucky, but they have never done a pond before so I'm researching the best way to do this. I want to prep the pond correctly and looking for info on the correct type geotextile fabric to put on the bottom ( the walls are concrete block) and the correct way to waterproof bottom drains and buckhead fittings. All advice is appreciated! Thanks

Koi Acres used to do this and maybe still do. There should be a documented build someplace in Koiphen if you do an advanced search. They might also be willing to give some advice if you contact the business.

Yes, I'm not an expert but I've seen several ponds posted built by this method by this business. They used to travel for builds. It might be best to get someone experienced in this method vs somebody's first try.

Never done business with them but have talked to them at shows in the past. They came across as very knowledgeable.

We do travel for installs still but sold our Poly machine 4-5 years ago. We typically fiberglass our builds now but if the customer wants poly we use Artesian Aquatics out of CA. Paul is the only sprayer we will use. Experience in pond spraying is priceless!! We bid a spray in WI and the owner found another applicator that was 1/2 the costs. Wanted us to price match and we opted to let the job go to the low bidder. All went well until they filled their pond and when they checked it the next am it was almost empty. The applicator they hired never sprayed a pond and the job was 100% done wrong. The low bidder used a poly hybrid that was cheaper than true poly. Not typing that the guy cannot do the spray but be careful so you do not end up w/a white elephant spraying a pond is a whole different job than spraying truck beds/sewer pipes. I am not on this site much but send a PM/call our office - leave a message if you need more advice/help.

How did they waterproof the bottom drains and bulkhead fittings when spraying the polyurea?

Poly does not adhere to plastic so plastic parts have to be coated then mechanically clamped. Mike@ is my email

I still trying to figure out what to do with my pond. I'm just so nervous to let the guy apply polyurea to my pond because he has never done a pond before. What are the cons to fiberglass? Whats to cost per sqft for fiberglass? Thanks
