What to do when I have a slightly higher amount of nitrite in the water?

Hi, I just tested the water in my pond and got a slightly higher amount of nitrite in it. I have a 396 gallon pond. I read somewhere that it's bad, but I don't really understand what caused it and what to do with it. Everything is good otherwise.

You can add 0.1% salt to help, how many fish do you have and what sort of filter setup?

If something has disrupted your biological filtration, you won't have to do anything, it will self correct quite quickly.

If your pond /bio filter is getting over stocked by too many fish - too big fish then you will have to down size stock or increase filtration/ water volume / water changes.
