Fish body spots?

This doitsu has skin problem for the longest time, I've post in the past but no resolution, here's another picture of the spots, the white spots are pitted in and sometimes looks better sometimes worse.

My thinking is to either spot treat with PP to see if I can burn them off, or do Baytril, thought I'm not convinced it's an infection but more of me thinking to...make it stronger?

Might be some kind of skin issue. If bacterial just use some iodine. PP hmm maybe maybe not. Dont know. Maybe Cryotherapy

I'd just leave it if this were my fish. Is it spreading to other fish?

It's a little difficult to treat something when you don't know what it is.
Could you knock it out and cut one spot out completely with scalpel/box cutter? Very safe easily accessible part of body luckily. How it heals will give you an indication of whether other spots are worth treating for.

It's not spreading to other fish, just this particular one. I have not thought about scraping with a knife, but I suppose use PP to burn the area is about the same?
Anecdotally the spots usually disappear during warmer months and get worse when the water is colder, also this particular one have koi pox flaring up more often than the rest.
I'll attempt treating the area differently and report back, there are multiple spots on it.

Well you have the luxury of time since its not contagious. If it has KOI pox then its likely correlated and you may not be able to get rid of these spots.


I can't see PP being strong enough to burn tissue in the way you want but a soldier iron (for hobby electronics) would work albiet more messy than a sharp knife. Or the cosmetic wart removal kits sold at chemists perhaps.

I get these on my fish due to the extreme hardness of my source water.

Why bother?

My eyes were drawn to the shimmies.

The red circle drew my eyes to the barely noticeable, bean shaped white blemish.

The pox/warts are virus related,they are barely noticeably,treat them and you will scar the skin/flesh forever, making the tiny spot far more

more noticeably.

Koi pox comes and goes.

Feed it probiotic food, the tail end looks a little skinny.
