Body lines look ok but the skin luster looks flat on all of the pictures, too me these are ones to hope they improve.

      Thanks Orlando.

Is the skin luster depending on genetic or the environment?

      Thanks again.

I would say both but genetics would carry the larger percentage. A koi with great skin could be ruined in a substandard environment.

      2nd question, are they females?

Judging by the body shape directly from above,I would say males.

An angled side ways viewed picture, would be more telling.

Female fish tend to show a tummy taper, or slimming reduction just before the fishes vent.

I like the body, they are strong and should grow big, the patterns though they are okay, but again it depends on the price.

Interesting hi patterns on both of these. Rootin' for the sumi to strengthen.

The sides seem pretty straight. Sometimes a female koi will have a curve early, but often, their profile is fairly indistinguishable from males when they are young. So difficult to say for sure at this point.

Thanks Kevins2ooo. I like male too. I just afraid they damage the females when mating season arrives.
Do you know how to prevent it?

Thanks Matt24. I hope the sumi will get stronger too.

It's simple separate your females from the the males, if you only have one pond once the sex of the koi has been identified remove the one that's not going to work with your curriculum.
