Sadly one of our long time members has passed... John/Hanover Koi Farms joined this forum in 2004 and helped many sharing his knowledge.

Yesterday, June 9, 2024, Hanover Koi Farms founder John Fornaro passed away with his family by his side.

As many of you know, John led several successful businesses before he began working with Koi at his personal farm in Hanover. With a combination of unbelievably hard work, dogged determination, and a scientific mindset, he successfully built his business into what it is today and brought the joy of ponds and Nishikigoi to thousands of people over the decades. So many of us have memories of lessons learned from John, not just about koi but about the value of faith, family, and making your own path in life the way he did.

Very sad indeed. I had just posted a link to a good article on that site and now this news.

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of John Fornaro. His work at Hanover Koi Farms brought him into the lives of so many people who share his passion for koi. His legacy will live on.

Very strong individual scientist when it came to koi and koi health. His fight with those saying Proform C and salt could not be used together was monumental. The story is on his site, as well as ours. Lost a good one with his passing.
