      Good evening all,

Thank you for all the information that you've given me.

Fortunately, I was able to meet a hobbyist near me today and he came to treat my fish.

We did some topical as well as injection using Amikacin . There will be another injection this coming Friday.

MY KH is super low. Only 2 drops on the API KH test. So I will start add baing soda. 1 lbs a day until it reaches 7-8 drops.

We also found Flukes on a scrape. So the plan is to treat with Fluke M. The first time I did a few weeks ago followed by the BSDT but I did not follow the fluke M instruction, I WC every 2 days and did not do a second dose. So that is my fault. This time I will do 3 rounds of Fluke M, 4 days apart.

Also added salt to 0.4 % today and will raise it to 0.6% by end of Tue, since a lot of other fish are having problems ( but nothing compared to my 30 inch Showa).

Tonight everyone already starts to swim better. Not sure if it is the baking soda ( only 1lb today) or the salt. Certainly Fluke M has not kicked in yet.

But.... she is still not eating. will giver her a few more days and see.

Made some medicated food with OA.

Hopefully everyone recovers by the end of June.

They have a 30 year old fish with a bad abrasion under it's midriff.

I suppose it could also be age related!

30 years is very good age for a pond fish.

I wondered if it was possible from squatting on the actual bottom of the pond chafing it's flesh, as opposed to an internal bacterial problem

      or alternatively parasites.

The position of the wound, in the heaviest thickest part of the body and being symmetrically round gave me the impression it was due to

resting on the bottom of the pond due it being tired?

I suppose tiredness or ill health could make them take a rest.

Maybe it is a swim bladder problem?

      .

No problems with my pH at +-8.3 , morning noon or night.

My pond KH is a very steady 6 or 7 drops and dosed when necessary.

If you check the pH at the time you intend to add baking soda, and it is over 8, you can add as much baking soda as you want. I won't change the pH much if any, but will stabilize the pH from dropping later overnight.
