Will this configuration work?

I have read that you don't want two bottom drains going into the same settling tank because of uneven flow rates, but can two settling tanks join into one mechanical filter?

The attached is what I am thinking of.

3" bottom drain and 3" filter to filter

I plan to use 2 pumps with different destinations

I have a skimmer at the opposite end. From my previous pond I have a couple PF4000 Laguna pressure filters. I thought I may as well use them off the slimmer for some added filtration and UV. I haven't figured out where the skimmer outlet should go. Thoughts?

Not in the diagram will be another inline UV filter. I don't know if I'll put it before the bog filter or the water feature. Thoughts?

I have a bunch of Laguna pumps and I don't know what combination I'll use.

Is anything jumping out as a bad idea? I pick up the excavator wednesday so speak now or forever hold your peace

I would recommend at least one flow control device where I have the red circle, assuming your sketch is accurate and both piping routes have equal fittings and elevation changes. In abundance of caution it would be best if you had a second control device on the other entrance to the stock tank. Water will always favor the path of least resistance and without knife valves (or similar flow device) you will not be able to control how much water is removed from the pond at each drain. If you have two drains and one pump, you need to have flow control on each of the two drain lines.

Keep all your gravity flow pipe 3" from the drains to the stock tank to reduce excessive draw-down. Also bare in mind that the "settling barrels" will not collect much debris because of the speed of the water flowing thru them, assuming you will have pumping capacity of more than 5000 gph.

Good idea. I have a couple knife valves I could put inline.

I do have a few more 55 gallon drums. I am not necessarily sold on using one mechanical filter tank.

I would put UV before the bog to give the algae a chance to stick together and get stuck in the bog. Additionally, you could consider reversing the roles and have a 150gal settling tank and two 55 gallon sand/gravel filters or other means of mechanical filtration in the barrels, although you'd probably need 3 barrels to accommodate the flow if you're above 4000gph.
