Can a koi be so stressed like this?

      Hello friends:

Finally I was able to move out my koi. Everyone of them looked fine except this one: Much redness overall, but no lesion.

My guess is that this one is extra sensitive to stress. I wonder if you also have experienced individual koi that easily get stressed and turn red like this?

      Thanks for your thoughts!

Egg bound impaction? I've seen similar case and I do Baytril if possible, if not, TricideNeo or Oxolinc Acid in QT setup, and do it quickly, looks like infection and need antibiotic treatment.

IF the koi is eggbound/tumor. Baytril well only put off the inevitable. Egg bound koi well go septic. And redness can occur like this. Baytril well knock it back and help but the eggs are still going to continue to rot. Septicemia still returns.

Having said that. Really dont know what is going on with your koi. BUT the redness should be reduced by now if it was just stressed. So check again. Feed and see what she looks like when she comes up for food.

I had a very similar fish case like this one, the antibiotic will buy it some time but the eggs if not absorbed will kill it eventually. I tried ovaprim (not on this fish) but had no success, it's a hormone injection to help it shed the eggs. I also read mentioning of manually loosen the plug of the duct but I have not found enough tutorials on how exactly to do that.

Please post the link or send us in the direction of where you read about manually loosening the plug from the duct since you haven't found tutorials.

      Thank you all for replying!

After 4 days it seems to be doing OK. I cannot see any abnormal redness from above, and its behavior has been normal. So I guess that it was indeed stress-related.
