      Will an existing sponge filter help cycle a 6200 gallon pond?

      I have two 75 gallon aquariums inside my home with small koi i've been growing out and have several extra sponge filters and do filter cleanings on them every month. Would adding the remains of cleaning these sponge filters and using the muck from the filter cleaning help cycle my 6200 gallon pond? Or is it just not enough to help?

      PH 7.8
      64 degrees
      A=1.0
      NI=0.18
      NA=0
      150 small 6" koi added already

      It could help - it would be hard to tell. I would go ahead and add some.

      How do you clean your sponge filters? I believe adding the waste from the sponges will help speed up the process but added to the filter.

      I think if there is enough food to be eaten in the 6500 gallons they will multiply for

      sure.
