Hi guys,
I want to share my new lotus. My friends sent me some seeds from NY and I planted them this year. Hope it'll survive this winter. Any suggestions to keep it in winter and fertilizer?
Enjoy,
Tony

Wow! It looks beautiful and even has a bud on it. I live in zone 7b NC and mine go dormant in late summer or early fall. I cover mine with 6 mil plastic over the top of the pot until first of April. I feed mine Pond Tabbs brand of food.
Not sure where you live or your zone. If you are in a warmer zone than I am you may not need to cover yours at all. Just leave it in its pot and it should start back up next Spring.
Did you do anything special to the seeds before planting. Do they need a freeze cycle or to be roughed up?
It's blooming hooray!
I'm in 10B zone SoCal. It get down around 35-39 degree. We will see this winter. I'm thinking to move it cover patio.
I only scrubbed its tip on cement. This will help roots break thru hard shell. Placed them in cup of clean water then moved it to pot with soil when it sprouted 2 or more leaves.
I’m in Ky and don’t do anything. I’m surprised they come back
