Any iris types stay green in winter?

I have an area near the pond where I get a standing puddle of water when it rains. So I’m going to plant iris there since they can live in water. Are there and varieties of iris whose stalks/leaves survive year round? Recommendations for soil additives to red clay? Thanks!

      Where do you live?

All my irises die back in winter (I’m in the PacNW, weather similar to Seattle).
Might be different in the warmer south.

Most Iris will be green year round in your zone. My African Iris are never covered for the cold snaps and still stay green. A lot of the nursery places you can just search Iris and limit to your zone. The African Iris is typically at the box garden centers, but for some more interesting colors.... https://www.springhillnursery.com/se...:8/perpage:500

Our Louisiana Iris stays green all winter here in TN (zone 5) but we cut the tops off in the fall so that it does not look as bad and comes back fuller in the spring. Here are pics from today.
P.s. these are yellow flag iris in the pics. Not black gamecock.
