Platinums are pretty awesome koi. That one looks long and should grow nicely.

I'll grow out some next year, I had one that turned out very nice and someone wanted so I had it rehomed.

Beautifully even color and scalation. Her fins are even and no signs of tears or damage which I do see in some fish pictures online for sale. Body is even in with all the way down through the tail stem which is not too narrow. While her gills stick out from her head, I suspect as she grows into her body that will disappear. Assuming the rounded fins indicate this is a female, that is. The body is still slender, and it will be interesting to see what this fish looks like in a year. Don’t hesitate to post an update.

I’m considering adding one of there to my pond, but I’m really not sure what the overall effect will be. Do these attract too much attention, or just the right amount? Impossible to answer, I suppose.

For a few years, I've had a ginrin platinum that looks very much like this one. And I'd say "just the right amount".

I have a platinum, not gin rin, and love it. Easy to spot in the pond but not overwhelming. They seem to have a bit of a unique body style from what i've seen. They don't grow like a Kohaku or the top 3, they tend to have a longer slender body that glides through the water peacefully. The fukurin plays a nice role as well in these. Subtle, yet pronounced. You have a good example that should grace your pond with beauty. Best of luck!
