You might have to be patient, while waiting for the Sumi to fill in,like the area around the peduncle.

I am for deep solid sumi, and a head V pattern down to a 1/3rd across the mouth.

TWO STARS according to Dainichi selection?

Nice body...praying for good balance of sumi front and back, when finished.

I think GC Koi down in SoCal has some reasonably priced Dainichi tosai off of their auctions. Quite nice.

So am I assuming in your statement that sumi comes up with a ph of 8.0?

What do you see to make the statement of waiting for sumi to come up in peduncle? Or anywhere else? Just curious

There has to be some indications that the sumi well fill in and create a solid area of sumi for your analysis. Why wouldn't the koi stay just like it is. Or underlying sumi disappear completely.Or some black scales appear mixed with white. Or etc etc. Ive seen it all over the years. So how did you know what this koi well do in the future?

How much did this koi cost? What about the skin quality? Why or why not well the sumi come together on the beni? Is this koi pretty much finished now? Well the beni hold up over the years if and when the sumi comes together? What well the sumi do at rear dorsal where the sumi scales have white edges?

Inquiring minds would like to know.

      I Read 2 stars

      I Read 50,000 YEN

      I Read 2 years old

He is familiar with what Miya and the partner can deliver.

Breeder Dainichi, a well known Japanese breeder who has delivered quality goods, should know if this could

reach what he sees as quality.

It's already in THE PENNY LANE.

He bred this fish, his crystal ball told him it has reached it's POTENIAL,NOW BE PATIENT if you own it.

I personally would not buy it.

Now you help the inquiring minds.

I have been taught to focus on the merits of a fish.

He has to recoup some,to pay the bills.

50000 yen is just under 400 bucks. A nisai from Dianichi for under 400. But has potential. ok. I see this was back in November. The dealer made a point in vid to show the sumi by gill plate. The dealer also made his decision to dump this koi for 400 after growing through tosai as Im guessing he thought it had better potential at the time. Perhaps it well turn out better in the future but the profit margin and end result is not worth the effort on his part.
Probably the poster well show how beautiful it has developed now.

Never to be heard of again.

You got the Claret jug, now get off my back and get on with it and justify it.

seems to be that time of the month for some you!

The gambling man and the out of date medication! With all the gold stars.

Call it a Sanke, closer to a Sanke than a Showa as far as I am concerned.

      Just my opinion

Koi are super cheap in Japan and other Asian countries. If you look around on Youtube, Narita Koi Farm often sell pretty reasonably priced koi, way cheaper than here in the States. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-VFzCD5uYM

They are only expensive in North America...With that said, $400 USD was the starting bid, doesn't mean he paid $400 for the koi.

      Here is an example:

Soft, soft water for Sumi I think.

It's got the potential I think, judging by what you see towards the back end

I heard the opposite being true, that hard water is good for sumi development.
