Hurricane Ian coming somewhere in Florida

I’m in Naples, so looks like we’re out of the cone. We are still getting ready for tons of rain, and some wind. Still a little early to know exactly where landfall will be. I have a sister in Clearwater, so I’m a little worried about her as she is very close to water.
We put our hurricane shutters up this morning so we’re ready. I still have some plants to bring in.

My DD just moved to Orlando last month. They are getting ready for lots of rain and wind. I hope they and others don't have any tornadoes from all of the wind. Best of luck to everyone in the path of this hurricane.

Am 7 miles as the crow flies se of down town Orlando, the rain is what concerns me the most.

The track has shifted a little closer to Ft Myers, which is not far from me. Now I find out we have a tornado warning!

Hurricane Ian a rainmaker for central NC

The strength of Hurricane Ian, by then likely a post-tropical cyclone, will be felt in North Carolina Friday night and Saturday.

Showers will continue Sunday, according to WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner. Wind gusts will be strongest throughout the day on Friday.

"It's definitely looking like a wet weekend for us," Gardner said. "It's also going to be windy. Our maximum wind gusts as we get into Friday could reach 35 mph."

Central North Carolina could experience pockets of heavy rain, with up to 3 to 7 inches possible, gusty winds and isolated tornadoes all during day on Saturday. Rain will likely linger into Monday morning.

My DD in Orlando went from a tropical storm watch this morning to a hurricane warning this evening.

The whole state of Florida is impacted with this storm.

This could be that "bad one" they have warned about for Tampa. I hunkered down at home for Charlie so long ago, and in the middle of the storm I was really wishing I had left. It pulled grass out of the lawn, and it was a tiny storm.

Storm just making landfall now in Ft Myers area. We have had five inches of rain so far, but only gusty winds; we are far enough inland that winds aren't due for another six hours and should be down to 100mph by then. Not good, but way better than 155mph!

I heard downtown Naples was flooded and Punta Gorda is being pounded right now.

Also mobile homes have had their roofs blown off in Largo.
