Can Hi Utsuri size be improved by crossing with a karashigoi?

Sometime in the future I might attempt to breed my shinoda utsuri with some Karashigoi to see if I can get spawns that are even larger than parents. I'm still trying to acquire a few red Karashigoi to grow out for fun.

      Is this the right path?

I'm also possibly interested in crossing the hi utsuri with a more whiter karashigoi for possibly some mutant showa.

I'll begin by saying that I don't know, since I've never tried anything quite like that. That said, here are a couple of thoughts:
      • Since karashigoi tend to be so large, I would suspect that crossing just about any koi with them would increase the size of the next generation.
      • My initial concern would be perhaps not getting many good utsuri due to crossing with a solid colored koi. But now that I think about it, I did get some decent patterned koi from crossing a soragoi (solid color) with patterned males (ochiba and goshiki).

If you try it, please keep us informed of how it goes.
