We had a cool spring this year and the Amorphophallus were late to sprout In a way that worked out well as I had dozens of corms to sell this spring and no need to pot them. People could see they were viable and grabbed them to pot or plant themselves. I did end up potting my propagating stock and just dozens of others....they are quite prolific. Also had some Sauromatum venosum sprout, so the Jurassic Forest should be a jungle this year. The first appearance of these plants in the fossil record dates back to the age of the dinosaurs. The downside is that in wrestling them for replanting and such, like many aroids, they are loaded with calcium oxaliate and if you don't cover when dealing with the large ones...you get itchy as heck.
But still when they all erupt and open....it is one of the prettiest areas on the nursery.
