      2 new Ginrin Kohaku

Just received my shipment of 2 new Kohaku. A Ginrin tancho kohaku and a Ginrin kohaku.
The Tancho is 22" and the 4 step (or is it 5 with the tancho?) is 18". Name: 20220421_110839.jpg

Very nice, breeder? Not that it matters, the fish to me look really nice, I got a GR tancho kohaku from Maruhiro now about 24", this year got a 5 step (or 4+maruten, share your doubt regarding nomenclature) regular wagoi Kohaku from Hoshikin. Generally it is said GR grow less than wagoi #but lately some of the big names like Dainichi and Momotaro are getting GR as big as their other giants

Miyatora is the Tancho and Suda is the kohaku. Both from Cots koi.. I prefer a Ginrin due to how white the koi get. It's definitely a brighter white than wagoi. If I was looking to grow monsters than I might think twice but I'm happy with 26 to 30".

I'm curious, if you don't mind sharing, what that second koi cost?

She was expensive. 22" female with clean white body and a decent marten spot between the eyes and not touching the shoulder. She cost 2k. I've seen them start at 2.5k so I might of done ok. Of course if you can get them smaller then it would be cheaper but too small and you won't know if it's a female.

Those are nice! Great baseline from which you can grow them.

The fish would be entered in the Ginrin category.

Typically the white on a good quality Ginrin will whiter than a non Ginrin.
