A showa from the koi show

I'm relatively new to koi and went to my first show in October this year. It was a small show in Simpsonville, SC and while there I bought this 1 1/2 year old showa that stood out in the tank. He was larger than the other koi in the tank with him and I was attracted by his color and size (not knowing anything else about koi). I had him in my original little pond (about 400 gallons) for a month before building my 3,000 gallon pond. He seems to have doubled in size in just a few weeks and his color has sharpened and has become more defined. I'm interested in knowing if he is a good example or just a pond quality koi.Name: Koi 3.jpg

      Welcome!

That is not a showa, it is a Kohaku and the color is fading. The quality doesn't seem to be there and water quality and koi health need a little bit of attention...

Kohaku - you are right and I know better. What do you see about the water quality and koi health that needs attention?
