      My friend partially heats his farmers market greenhouse with apple orchid trimmings. With an air system it's easy to have the exhaust fans and vents automatically kick on if it gets too hot.

      For wood fired water heat on a koi pond it can be done but probably not worth the money, time and effort to do correctly.

      My friend with the greenhouse is also looking at the compost water heater concept. This photo is just one of several concepts out there. Once the compost is spent as a heat source it has decomposed and returned to the grow bed soil as organic amendments.
