      Gill Snip

First snip. I put it under the microscope. Can anyone tell me if this is what a healthy fish gills looks like? This fish sits on the bottom, eats, and sits on the bottom. Doesn't flash, and doesn't clamps its fins. But it just won't swim. Ive scraped and scoped and found nothing. Water parameters are good Ammonia 0, kH 6 drops, Nitrite 0, Nitrate appz 100.

I have had fish w/ swim bladder issues sit on the bottom of the pond. Does it ever swim to the surface at all? (I'm not sure if you use floating or sinking food..?)

Thank you for the response! Yes it does swim every once in awhile and definitely will come up to the surface for feedings to grab a couple of pellets. Then straight back down to digest. I too believe its a swim bladder issue. But want to take the gills off the check list first.

Look for the feeding of the frozen pee remedy to assist with a swim bladder problem.

      Alternatively.

If I recall you can draw air out of the swim bladder.

Google. Remove air from the swim bladder.

The discussions might assist you, without damaging your patient.
