Pvc pipe cut lengthwise for waterfall?

I have a 2” pipe t’ed off with a shutoff between outlets to control flow as one of my main returns.
Would an elbow on each with a pipe slit length wise work to create a waterfall effect? Is it safe to assume that since it’s freed from each end that it would have enough flow to make it even from side to side??

Now I just need to adjust the main flow and it should look better. I’ll look at it for a couple days before I decide to mess around anymore though. I may go with just a stone slab

      Well done!
That's what I was doing to suggest, is just give it a try. Even if it didn't work you're not out much but
      a piece of pipe.
I'm not sure what you have envisioned for the final flow to look like but something to try might be a scrap
piece of epdm glued or attached some way to the slot. I use one on my rock to get a "weir" type flow.

I was looking for a more even output but with pressure from both sides at the current flow its creating what you see. I may try a thinner cut to see what that will do. That is a heavy 5/8 slot.
Oh and yours looks fantastic! 😉

Try turning the slot vertical to get more even flow

On the slotted pipe go to 4 inch and rotate the slot a little up.

4” pipe with foam backed epmd

Just gotta paint it and modify the plumbing behind to get it closer to the block. I might even modify it all and make that 4” piece twice as wide
