      More flowers 2021

I thank the members of this forum for starting my water gardening hobby. I started with an ornamental pond thinking I could keep koi. Welp, like many I came to realize that what I got was not the best for koi keeping. But making the best of it I found that I could grow water lilies pretty well in my shallow pond with boulder walls. Through some purchases and trading with members here, I am still going over 5, 6, 7? years now.

      Tropical Waterlilies

Started this year a little late. Thought I got off to a good start but then random hot and cold waves took a toll (I guess that was what it was).

I try to tuber all my plants to keep them over winter. I started some older tubers, this one is Day Glow from 2016 (so yes, 5 years of storage). It sprouted easily.

Day Glow was also the first to bud!

New to me this year is another Craig Presnell original, Foxfire. I purchased this late, really hoping it will tuber for me. It is like a dream plant for me.

Woods White Knight, Night Bloomer. The only bloom I have gotten so far this year but was truely spectacular!

King Of Siam. I got this in a plant exchange here from Kat (also Day Glow was from her).

Marmorata has been fantastic this year. Huge light lavender blooms seemingly luminescent in the sun.

Rhonda Kay. I think this was the first water lily I ever had. Purchased from Matherfish. Started it all I guess. These are photos from last year.

You should copyright that picture of Rhonda Kay and sell the image. You have the lighting and contrast perfect- stunning photograph ! I could see that in a large frame hanging over a couch in coastal Florida !

Thank you, your flowers are an inspiration, here still at very early stages of planting, I have put in about 150-200 plants so far. Mostly for purifying the water so Acorus, Typha, Carex, Sagittaria, Imperata, Lythrum and Pontederia (at least they have flowers), but besides the Hibiscus I have also planted half a dozen Iris Louisiana, Lobelia, marsh roses and a few more. They all seem to have taken but will need to see how they do over winter (planning a pond and wetland area cover). Will appreciate all the advice I can get. Ciao

You have an entire botanical garden there! I'm truly happy for you! The only thing that is missing is a tree swing or some roses. You can even get fertilizer from https://www.growgardener.com/the-5-b...nockout-roses/ in order to make sure that they will grow beautifully. I don't know long this took in order to achieve having this many plants, but I'm amazed. You should share some tips and tricks regarding this because I'm sure that everyone can learn something from you. You definitely know what you're doing and that's amazing.
