      Dosage for Chloramine T?

Just received some Chloramine -T but no instructions came with it. Does anyone know what the dosage requirement is? Thanks.

      Thank you Steve.

For Bacterial Gill Disease should I use the 5g/1000g for 5 days and should the filter be bypassed for the treatment period?

Yes, I'd use the 5 grams/1000 gallons for 5 days.
I did read a few old posts that said it would knock back your bio filter so I'd bypass it if
you can. Or it has been used as a "dip" to prevent treating the whole pond also:

Is Bacterial Gill Disease contagious? I thought I read it was so I decided to treat the entire pond. I have been losing fish that have white on the gills. I'm just hoping it isn't KHV. We have had Koi for years with no problems but this year something changed. All water tests have been looking good. I was having fluctuations on the ph level of approximately .2 so raised the KH with baking soda but lost another Koi today.

I don't think it's contagious per se but if it's a water issue, they're all in the same tank. Nothing wrong
with doing the whole pond either.

I'm sorry for another loss but did it have the same damaged gills? Do the koi have a predominant
notch in their noses? (I really don't see a notch in the earlier pictures) KHV is known for that, as
well as costia. But I've not seen gills like that with parasites.

I know during these times people feel differently about outside contact, but if you'd like to use my
microscope I'd be happy to meet you and let you borrow it. I know it can be intimidating having someone
at your house that you don't know so that might make it a little more safe? I'll leave it up to you but
      just wanted to offer.

Yes, same damaged gills but not as bad as the big koi. I feel like I have treated with everything, over the past months, and am still having problems. Proform C, Prazi, PP, Melafix, and now Chloramine T. The Koi that I found today seemed to have a sunk in notch on the nose but our big guy didn't. I read that costia is similar to KHV but Proform C treats that or so it says. Thanks for the offer of the microscope but I have ordered one. Have you heard of any KHV in the area?

Nothing wrong treating more than one round of Proform C either. UV needs to be off when treating... and dose once
a day with a water change in between treatments for 3 days (which it sounds like you did all that). Prazi is really only
for flukes, which normally won't kill quickly and there's usually a lot of flashing, twitching, clamped fins, etc. A second
7 day dose of Prazi is often done to kill hatching eggs found with gill flukes.

I have heard of KHV in Seattle, but not on the peninsula. From what I've read a carrier can lay dormant for a long period of time
until a triggering event happens and starts shedding the virus and effecting others. I hope others with more knowledge
      than me can add info.

      Dosage Instructions
Dosage: 5g per 1000 gallons (4564 Litres) of pond water. Dosage to reduce pathogenic bacterial levels in pond water. Repeat after 24 hours for a maximum of 5 days.

Dosage: 15g per 1000 gallons (4564 Litres) of pond water. Dosage to reduce parasite levels in pond water. Repeat after 24 hours for a maximum of 4 days. This treatment regime can be repeated after 14 days if necessary.

Caution: Please check your pH and KH prior to using as Chloramine T can be very toxic in soft water. If your pH is below pH7 (acid) and has a general hardness below 6°dH (soft water) reduce the dose by 75%. Do NOT use with salt. DO NOT OVERDOSE. Over dosing can cause fish fatalities.
      How To Use
Fill a clean watering can with pond water, calculate the correct dose then add Chloramine T.

Slowly apply to the pond over a 1 hour period, this will prevent shocking the pond with a highly concentrated dose.

Switch off UV steriliser until course of treatment is complete.

Do not use below 12.5°C (54.5°F).

Do NOT overdose as this may cause fish fatalities.
      Health And Safety
Store in original container between 2°C and 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. For animal pond water treatment only. Always wear protective gloves and goggles when handling chemicals. Use within 12 months of opening. Do not use in conjunction with any other medication. Do not use with salt.
