Aquadyne Bead Filter/aqua ultraviolet UV light

I ended up with a used Aquadyne 8.8C and a pair of Aqua Ultraviolet UV lights. My intention is that it will replace my current small bead filter and UV light. My pond is 3000 gallons with a small russell water gardens bead filter and a 1/3 HP Performance Pro pump and a 40 watt Pondmaster UV light. My fish load is about 7 Koi 12-16 inches.

I also found a used older model Aquadyne Koi Camp 8.8C in my area for about $800. It seems like it would be too big for the pond, but maybe there is no such thing as having too much filtration.

Some opinions and suggestions from the past...
It sounds like the media in them are not beads but tubular in design (?) which some don't like:

excellent filter, weekly backflushes are a must. old media should be cleaned with potassium permanganate

Where do you find potassium permanganate? Do I remove all the beads and soak them in the potassium permanganate?

Also I ended up with a used Aquadyne 8.8C. It's really big and probably overkill for my little 3000 gallon pond, but hopefully it makes my Koi happy. My plan is to plumb my Performance Pro 1/3 HP 6300 GPH into the Aquadyne 8.8C (older version rated at 6000 GPH so hopefully this doesn't cause any issues) Then out to a parallel set of 57 watt each Aqua Ultraviolet lights. After the UV lights I plan on splitting it into 1/2 flow to TPR's and 1/2 Flow waterfall.

potassium permanganate can be found at a good pond store,or on ebay. Hopefully the aquadyne came with the blower.

Yes, it came with the blower and it powered on. I took the multi valve off for transportation. I also got this dual aqua ultraviolet 57 watt each in parallel. What do you think of from the pump directly into the Bead Filter then the UV lights and back to the TPR's and waterfall?
