Unidentified pond fish problem. Express IDI HELP!

Please, please I am having a problem with my koi and goldfish in my pond! I have many black comets in my pond along with Koi. They have a white/silvery/ milkish coat on them. They are acting fine, but I am very worried! So far my research has brought me too Potassium Permanganate as a remedy, but I am cautious because of the organic debris in the pond. It is about 4000 gal with lots of plant material. The chemistry checks out good with a slight amount of nitrates. I did a slight water change, maybe 20%.A salt bath for the fish would be impossible as I would not be able to catch them. I have a bottle of Express IDI from about five years ago. Is it still good and can I use it? I was going to purchase new, but cant find this product Please HELP! Thank you! Dennis Galante

      Welcome to Koiphen.

Also. What is the actual water reading? And also, the reading after the WC. If you did check before and after WC.

So, our experience members here can answer more

As mentioned, please post pictures. Also, are there any other symptoms? I'd be very reluctant to use Potassium Permanganate until you have a better idea of what you're dealing with.

The Express IDI seems to be for lice and anchor worms but unless that's what their issue is it
probably isn't going to help. I doubt after 5 years on the shelf there's much potency left. Most meds
have an expiration date on the container.

I'll add another vote for a picture and test results for ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, pH, KH, and water temp.
