Finally to the outdoor pond, but which sex?

      Hello friends:

I have finally moved out 6 koi from the over-wintering tank for breeding. I just wonder if these 3 are female:

      Koi 1:

The 2nd and the 3rd looks like females to me Simon. I can't really tell with the 1st, but possibly female too. But then, I am still new at looking at them. Some of the season veterans here might be able to confirmed it.

      # 1 and #3 are females, #2 looks male in the top picture but a little iffi on the bottom picture but am pretty shure it's a male.

I think you are right ... especially since Orlando agrees.

They each look like quality specimens with good shine and nice robust builds. In a couple of years, you may need sunglasses to look at the pond.

      Hello friends:

Spawning with the sanke only resulted in some 30 fry. Most of eggs got fungi, no idea if they were fertilized or not. Likely not fertilized as the most of the koi involved in the spawning are 2-3 year old and very small (35-45 cm).

      Anyway, here comes a photo:

Good sumi on these. Several are a bit plump for this age. Nice head spot on that maruten sanke in the third photo. Interesting hi becko, I think, at the top of that photo.
