      New to Bonsai

      Hey everyone,

My DW and I just brought our first bonsai (red maple leaf), I am not sure (right now) what it call at the moment. I have to go back home and check. We brought it from a nursery and we noticed that you can makes a lot more different types of bonsai from different types of trees. Some are fruit trees and other are just regular trees. Not sure what is the process of making the into bonsai. But I am pretty sure there is the process of getting them there. Hopefully, I can get there some day.
      Regards,
      Sunny

Share a photo of your new bonsai. Where will you keep it? It would be interesting to see how you care for it.

It's in the backyard at the moment, still don't know where it will go. And how we will care for it. It's a learning process for this new thing.

Technically, any shrub or tree can be a Bonsai. Bonsai are just "little versions" of big things, so you can have a Giant Sequoia Bonsai, or Boab Bonsai etc. There are a ton of great YouTube videos explaining what Bonsai are and how to shape and care for them. I've been teaching myself how to Clone mine, it's easier than starting from seed.
