      Search the forum!

You are not going to find much encouragement on them, at least for ponds.

There's a custom Google search link under the "Quick Links" tab on the Koiphen home page
in the dark blue navigation bar:

      http://cse.google.com/cse?cx=0070364...19978874%252Fc

It works a lot better than the forums generic search.

I've run undergravel filters in my aquariums for years. Well, decades, actually. Wouldn't do without them. I also use lots of plants. Last few tanks, I've added internal sump filters, based on this design: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omx9O6wB60c. I build mine on the end, rather than the back, but it's the same principle. With the undergravel, the internal sump, and the heavy use of plants, I get excellent filtration. I'm pretty sure the undergravel goes anoxic after a while. In any case, it works so well, I never have to do water changes, just top things off due to evaporation. It helps to have a low fish load.

Do you really live in Mauritius? It sounds like heaven!

      Thanks,

      Bill
