Unusual Growth on Koi Continued

Last year I posted a notice for advise on a growth that one of my Koi had.

If anyone is interested I would like to share what it was.

The growth started to distort the eye socket on the fish so I took it to the vet.

I wanted to know if it was in pain and should it be euthanised.

In the end I decided to let the exotic's vet cut it out.

Everyone laughs when I tell them my fish has had a general anaethetic.

Anyway the vet cut it away thinking also that it was a tumour until the pathology
came back today.

It was Carp Pox that had gotten out of control somehow. The lump was proud flesh

5 days after surgery and my fish is back to his normal self.

The original photo. So all the pink growths were removed as well as the head area pared down. Very interesting to see if any growth returns or not, over time. Thank you for the update!

Could the pink growths be food pellets by any chance?
