      Popping eyes.

Hello koiphen. I recently purchased two koi on the 6th. I do not have a qt set up so they went straight into the pond. They came from local dealers.

On the 11th I noticed one of the new koi and one of my older ones had obviously thicker slime. That lite milky look over the kois.

I tried scoping but was unsuccessful at finding anything. I DO have some experience scoping.
I watched them that night and decided to do a shotgun treatment.

      Saturday treated with ich-x
Sunday 30% water change treated again with ich-x and prazi
Monday morning Treated again with ich x.

I plan on doing a 30% water change tomorrow with another round of ich -x and prazi on Wednesday.

Milky ness is gone on all koi

      PROBLEM IS

A couple koi but mostly my new favorite gr ochiba seem to have eyes popping out more than normal.

Is this a normal reaction to the shotgun treatment stress?

Should I continue with treatment on Wednesday?

      Should I use salt?

My water quality is not the issue. I am feeding just enough to watch koi react to food but about 10% what I usually fed.

Any pics of the koi with eyes popping.
Any other symptoms like pine coning?

I know you say water quality is not the issue, but can you post your params still?

Been ponding for a while, with lots of successes, and lots of failures.

A lot of koi have redness which I only noticed on one koi when I began treatment.

Aside from that eating and swimming around.

      Before I added Chems.
      All was 0
And temp is 75 at night and up to 77 during the day.

I know meds Alter. Reading so I have met tested any parameters except temp

I would stop treating for two reasons. One, you don't know what you are treating and, two, it looks like the treatments are adversely affecting the Koi. The eyes are not only bulging, I don't think that is from the treatment, but they are turning white. That "white" can be caused by F mg burning the eyes.

The white on the eyes could also be from a bacterial issue

Initial white slime could be just a normal reaction from introducing new fish. If no other stress going and fish are acting as usual they would have/should have adapted to it.
The addition of oxidizing chemicals was an additional stress (to fish/filters) that likely lead to internal bacterial infection. If this is the case popping eyes is pre-dropsy.
Have you fed anything more that ordinary pellets?
What mechanical and biological filters are you running? Do you have a skimmer?
Did you inspect the entire body including the vent, the gills and inside it's mouth?
How about a video of the entire pond set up?

Ok I will not treat tomorrow.
I still have prazi in the water.

I have a bottom drain to 2 55 gallon tank one as a vortex and the other filled with mátala.

But I then have a partially open system which usually does 10% every 8 hours. Well water.

I did stop water changes to do treatment.
But I also stopped feeding. Only maybe 10 medium pellets to get them going.

I have been doing water changes in between.

Aside from the eyes he seems pretty fine. Today I fed a little.

I have not messed anymore with them as I don’t want to stress anymore

      Thanks for helping out guys

I do think this is reaction to treatment. Not sure weather it’s the prazi or f mg.

With the burning and white eyes and building eyes. Is this a wait and let recover think or do I need to add salt.

As I said for now they are eating and swimming around.

I can’t believe 3 treatment of ich x at bottle dosage would have such a negative impact.
Maybe the last batch was stronger than usual not sure.

I have noticed several koi with burnt eyes. White.
I am sure this is from treatment as they did not have this before.

How often did you treat with formalin and malachite?
