Hi, any advice for a wifi thermometer that does a decent job? I'm uk based. I have used a seneye before on my reef but didn't want the expense of a sws etc just for temperature. Any help appreciated

I dis try this with my reef years ago to build a doser. It got complicated and never finished. How simple is it and is there a link to instructions for this? Also how do you waterproof it or can it just be run a metre so it would fit in my shed? Presume I could do that with a WiFi booster plug.
Let me look up the link I used to get the idea started for me. The instructions are really good and thorough.
You could get a waterproof pi for the case, or make your own.
I flooded my pi 3 times and it still works, so they are resilient
I have a security camera looking after the pond. I just stick a pond thermometer in front of it. Weatherproofed.

That could be a good option as I already have a camera. Not sure the camera would last outdoors though unless I find a thermometer with a long wire.
Here is the link with good instructions on setting up a Rapsberry Pi Temperature Monitor

Thanks for the options every1. I think the camera option may be better for now as I already have a camera but not sure if it is waterproof so will have to look into that
Here are a couple images of a Raspberry PI Temperature logger I am setting up for my QT right now. The plan is to Create 1 common webpage that will pull in temp data from each location (Pond and QT), as well as a camera on each. For now, they each have their own separate web pages.
Aquascape is coming out with one for 2021. Looks pretty sleek.

I was sorting through some unused HDMI cables and stumbled across a Rasberry Pi 3B+ that I must have bought
but can't remember why! I'm going to have a go at this and see if I can make one.
Did you use the temp sensors that he did in the link or another one? If different, do you have a link?
I'd like a couple with a 3 meter cords so I could put one at the bottom of the pond and another very shallow and see
if there's much of a difference.
These work well for the price;

This Ambient Weather wireless WS-11 & F007TP-8 sensor with a wet probe will replace a La Crosse model that I've used for many years and had to replace several times due to failures. La Crosse discontinued that model and I didn't see any comparable La Crosse models that had a remote sensor with a wet probe which allowed me to see the temperature in my filter pit and also the water in my RDF. This isn't internet ready, just a simple wireless temperature monitor (WS-11) placed at the window facing my pond to pick up the signals from the remote sensor(s). Less that $30, coming in next week and if interested I'll give an update/review, they do have many other units. BTW, not connected in any way to Ambient Weather............
