      Staghorn Help

We were brushed yesterday by a tropical storm And the only damage was a Staghorn Fern that had been attached to a Live Oak for over 16 yrs now ended up on the ground. It isn't so much that it detached, but more that the bark it had been attached to peeled off the true. I am at a loss as to how to reattach it. Any suggestions? I am thinking a ratcheted tie down strap is my best option.

Liberal spreading of wood glue on the tree stem and bark and ratchet down with straps.

That is a huge Staghorn. Very nice. Seems like tie down strap would work ok.

I hang all my stag horns with copper ground wire now
A few of my oldest were hung with coat hangers tied to wood That I mounted them too
When they broke lose , I took a long piece of heavy ground wire sharpened the end of it and stuck it from the top down through the meat all the way to the bottom then backup again and tie it into a hook
