      Question White Bump on Koi

      Hi Everyone,
      I had my koi for a long time, I realize that one of my Koi body and tail have some white bump. 2 on upper body and one on the tail. I try picking up my koi and feel what bump on the fish, it feel like a hard bump and seem to be from the skin.
      It's white hard bump.

      attach are some picture, Can someone help me identify what they are, so I can take the proper treatment to help the Koi. Thx

      It is hard to tell from just pictures, but there are two possibilities. The bump on the left is most visible and it would appear to be viral and as such would not respond to treatment. The one on the right doesn't have a good enough view to say it is the same. With the two wounds located as they are, I feel that they may be stab wounds from a heron and the fish is very lucky to be swimming in the pond. I would recommend catching and sedating the fish to investigate the spots better. If they are puncture wounds, then I would treat with iodine and then order Tricide Neo if the wounds show any increased redness indicating bacterial infection. If the one on the right looks like the one on the left and the one on the left is hard nodules then I would say it is viral.
