Really swollen koi but acts healthy. Anyone knows what this is?

Iíve been in the koi hobby for 20+ years. For the past 8 years, I have not had a koi die outside of tumor and age (20 years old). So all pond chemistries are normal.

I got this young Benigoi that suddenly became extremely swollen at the belly area 3 weeks ago. It is so swollen the scales are sticking outwards. Not dropsy and without ulcers. Eating and acting normally. All the other fish are healthy. I did have a small black koi disappear and wondered if she ate him. Is that even possible? The benigoi is 12Ē and the black koi 6Ē. Donít see the small black koi anywhere (in or out of water).

What does everyone think it is?

      Brian.

Why do you say "Not dropsy".

Here is a similar post where someone suggested a skin infections could look like dropsy: https://www.koiphen.com/forums/showt...le-protrusion)

I also found a link to this video, but could not find it again: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42DAoriYhVI

Hope this helps. Let us know what you try and the outcome.
