      Bakki shower fikter

After seeing another homemade shower I just had to have a go myself.

I used 3 PVC boxes that I bought from the UK equivalent B&Q here in Thailand.

In all three boxes I put some fancy Korean matting starting at the top with course and super fine at the bottom. In-between the matting I put bags if coral each box holding about 5 kg of coral each. My shower at the top is exactly the same as what I saw the other guy did except I used 1 inch PVC where I think he used 1 1/2 inch pipe.

I've still to build a screen to hide it but happy for now to hopefully help with the nitrates and nitrites, it sounds pretty awesome as well.

Big shout out for the inspiration

Is that good or should I cut it back. I thought showers worked better with fast flow?

Looks good to me. Here's my shower filter. 10feet x 5 feet
I have 6 Nissan and 5 3 year old koi in 1000 gallons.

What's good with your DIY shower is that you can always add more sections later on when you add more koi or they get bigger.

When are you getting the 30 new koi? Can't wait to see them..

I've been swithering over getting a RDF.......but with my current setup I just don't see if it's going to help. My water is crystal clear, ammonia is zero, nitrates and nitrites are coming down everyday and the fish look extremely happy.......that's the main thing

Your restructured pond is less than a month old iirc... I wouldn't buy anything. Let it run for a couple years
and it will tell you what you need to do.
